Raspberry Dessert (Orpha Whitlock)

Crust:
2 C flour
1/2 C brown sugar
1 C butter
1/4 C chopped nuts
Bake in cake pan at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Mix and pour on crust:
1 8 oz cream cheese
1 C powdered sugar
2 pkgs. dream whip
Set in fridge for 2 hours.

Topping:
1 Danish Dessert
2 pkg. frozen raspberries (use juice from raspberries)
Cook and put on top and refrigerate.

Rhubarb Jam

Mix & stand overnight:
5 cups rhubarb (cut fine)
3 cups sugar

Add:
3 Tbs. lemon juice

Bring to rolling boil - boil 15 minutes.
Add:
1 3 oz pkg. jello (raspberry or strawberry)

Put in jars and hotpack 10 minutes.

Rae Lou usually made a double batch which made about 5 pints.

Venison Jerky

3 to 5 lbs meat cut in thin strips

Marinate in refrigerator 12 to 18 hours in:
1 cup warm water
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbs. salt
2 Tbs. "Smoke" (liquid)

Pat dry on paper towels.
Place on cheese cloth on oven rack.  Set oven at 150 degrees.  Dry for 12 or more hours. (Leave oven door slightly ajar.)

Refrigerator Sugar Cookies

Mix together:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking power

Roll in logs and cover with wax paper and refrigerate overnight.
Slice 1/4" thick and bake 10 - 12 minutes at 375 degrees.

Can frost and top with nuts or coconut.  I believe she tripled the batch.
